We did not know if we were able to make our trip to New York city yet...until 11:00 P.M of the night before the Aug. 9th, I sent an e-mail to Ira to confirm that : 'I do my best to come and pick you up leave at 7:00 A.M'.
Good try to make me rush and arrive at 7:30 but we had to have an emotionnal pause before leaving Montreal for New York city because Ira's sweet grandson had woken up by my phone call and was so truly emotional to let his dear grandma Ira leave for 2 days...hard for him to let his tears run! I said to myself, this was what made us so human and so special...when we can feel and express our emotions!
Touched by the waves of emotions and the entire exchange while appreciating what I witnessed! This complicity between both was the results of their endless efforts for experiencing some challenges of life together...I could not stop myself from keeping these precious moments of sincerity that I did not find sad at all but rather joyful....and, behind these tears, a huge source of love feeding them!
I said to Ira's grandson,'I was told sometimes in the past that eyes were the windows of our soul and tears clean them up! Let your love to be expressed through your tears, it relieves the emotions and feels good after! This trip is a gift to your grandma whom you love so much, it is so meaningful to her. I try to drive carefully and take care of your precious grandma and come back safe tomorrow.' Tears started to run, washing whatever needed to be washed. I continued,'You know what son? I am sure one day, when you are grown up, it will be you who will be driving us safely in your beautiful car to many places! There, we will just enjoy the trip and will laugh all the way being proud of you and your safe driving!'.
There, I felt that the tears and fears became clouds, rained, washed to nourish the young boys little heart while I was repeating to myself,' Oh, you better drive carefully, Ira should come back home happy and safe!'
The young boy said bye to grandma and ran up fast, waving to us from the balcony of their apartment while taking care of the dogs, Snoop and Pouchi. He stayed with his father and his other grandmother during the short absence of his grandma, the Magic Queen of Music!
Well, the trip started, when we are in the car, Ira says,'I have our croissants but guess what happened to the delicious croissants aux amandes? There is just one left because snoop had found them and ate them all except for one!' I replied to Ira, 'One is quite enough for me!'.
A short stop at Duty Free Shop to buy little gifts for our host and enjoy the perfumes...get our espresso and cappuccino to enjoy with our delicious croissants et croissants aux amandes!
The border was unbelievable! We were not sure how it would be but with our surprise, the young american officer was very pleasant, after the routine questions, he asked us,'How do you know each other?' I replied,'This wonderful lady is my singing master!'.Through a sweet smile, he said,' Enjoy your trip ladies!'. We laughed very pleased and thanked him!
We did pretty well after Ira convincing me about GPS even though I had my directions in order not to have surprises. We arrived on time (Cynthia thought if we arrived at 5 it could be very good because we could have something for dinner together. Meanwhile, as we were hungry we stopped somewhere and enjoyed our cheese and ....
Here we arrive and wonderful Cynthia welcomes us in front of her home!

This beautiful Orchid has a special story...and as we said that we had lunch late, our dear Cynthia makes a salade and enjoys it while Ira and myself refreshed and changed!
